GOODY Style Large Round Brush

GOODY STYLE LG ROUND BRUSH

My hair is naturally straight, but to make it smoother and shinier, I’ll sometimes blow dry it using the GOODY large round brush. The combination of different bristles grip every strand firmly, while the large ceramic barrel helps make drying quick and easy. I let my hair dry naturally until it’s slightly damp, and then brush and dry through each section only once or twice to get the results I need. To keep my hair looking healthy, I keep the blow drying to a minimum. This brush helps me do that.

Voots Veggie Fruit Tarts

Voots Veggie Fruit Tarts

“Real berries, apples, carrots, zucchinis, and many more fruits and veggies are dried, crushed and made into Voots.”

For having so many fruits and veggies, I’m surprised by the complete lack of vitamins and minerals listed under “supplement facts.” The only vitamin listed is vitamin C (100% of the daily value) and phytonutrient fruit and vegetable blend at 550 mg, whatever that means. What? No vitamin A, K, or anything else? It even says on the box: “Not a substitute for eating fruits and vegetables, which provide fiber, vitamins, and minerals.”

I thought I was getting something like a Pop Tart. Instead, Voots are more like a giant pill-shaped candy tart. It’s extremely sweet. My son didn’t care for it. My daughter didn’t like it at first but she said it was good after she chewed it.

If you want your kids to have candy that sounds healthy, I guess this would work.

Philips Sonicare HX6013 ProResults Brush Head Standard

Philips Sonicare HX6013 ProResults Brush Head Standard

I bought the standard size ProResults Brush Head for my Sonicare Flexcare. I was actually looking for the compact heads but bought the standard heads because they were less expensive. The standard heads are not as wide as a typical manual toothbrush head. They are a little pointed at the tip, which is great for getting behind the back molars. They are soft and comfortable. Most importantly, they fit my Flexcare.

Reach Total Care floss with Listerine Fresh Flavors

Reach Total Care floss with Listerine Fresh Flavors

I’m a huge fan of the Glide floss line. I’ve used their original, their Comfort Plus, their Deep Clean. It’s all good.

Now, we have Reach Total Care floss. It’s definitely unique. Right out of the package, I smell the Listerine scent. It’s really a stronger scent than it is flavor. The floss is a lightweight plastic material, which brings images to my mind of finely shredded pink plastic produce bags. It lives up to it’s name, sliding between my teeth without catching, pulling or shredding. It is sleek, so I feel no residue.

It’s supposed to remove twice the amount of plaque as original Glide. Hard to tell if that’s true. It has such a slippery feel, so it doesn’t feel like it scrubs like some of the other floss. I prefer the other Glide floss over Total Care, but I prefer Total Care over floss by other manufacturers.

SENSA Quench Orange Crush

SENSA Quench Orange Crush

When I first drank the SENSA Quench, I thought it was pretty good, but I soon discovered otherwise. There is an awful aftertaste that lingers. I taste it even now, after I had just minutes ago. I’m not sure if it’s the green tea or something else, but it’s not good.

Dove Clinical Protection Antiperspirant/Deodorant, Soothing Chamomile

Dove Clinical Protection Antiperspirant/Deodorant, Soothing Chamomile

I am really getting tired of all these clinical protection deodorants that are best applied at bedtime. It means I either have to apply it to sweaty, smelly armpits, add an extra shower at bedtime, or shower only at bedtime. Basically, I have to change up my routine.

Sure, the instructions on the box say I may apply Dove Clinical Protection in the morning. I did that with less than stellar results. My armpits are wet by the end of the day. Why can’t they just make something that works best whenever it’s applied?

Suave Clinical Protection Powder Fresh 24 Hour Prosolid Anti-perspirant/Deodorant

Suave Clinical Protection Powder Fresh 24 Hour Prosolid Anti-perspirant/Deodorant

The labeling on the package states that I need to apply Suave Clinical Protection at bedtime for maximum protection. It forms some sort of barrier and will stay on the next day even through a shower.
After many nights of forgetting to put it on at bedtime, I finally remembered. (That’s okay, the box says I can do it in the morning, just not for “maximum protection.”) I kept my fingers crossed that it would work well after my shower, as promised. That was faith, because I was going to work that morning.

Did it work? Let’s just say if this is maximum protection, let me go back to using it in the morning. It works just as well that way, if not better. At least I won’t have to change up my routine. Not only did the strong powder scent fade, but I did smell me. Just hoping not everyone else could also smell me.

Telemergency Royalty 100 Pill Dispenser

Telemergency Royalty 100 Pill Dispenser with Alarm Clock and Timer

I wanted a pill organizer that would help me keep track of my pills and remind me to take them. Enter the Telemergency Royalty 100.

PROS:

First, the positives. I like that it has slots for all seven days of the week, four times a day: morning, noon, evening and bedtime.

There is a small portable pill box in the timer that can be removed and carried around.

That’s all I can think of.

CONS:

Like most 28 slot pill organizers, this one is large and unwieldy. It’s almost 8 inches in diameter. Be ready to find a space on the counter.

The cover rotates around the face to give access to the pills. It does not rotate easily. Grandma with arthritis would have problems. If one wants to latch the cover, there is only one position to do it in, which necessitates rotating the cover around with every use.

The clock/timer/alarm is the selling point of the product, yet it is so frustratingly unintuitive. I could not do something so simple as programming in the time. I went to the users manual and found that to program the time, I do not press “set.” No, that would be too easy. I must press “snooze” and “mode” together and hold for 3 seconds. To change the hour, I press the set button until it scrolls to the correct hour. I must then hit “mode.” I hit “set” to scroll through the minutes. When I have everything perfect, I must press “snooze.” ??? Who came up with all that?

It gets even better. Only one alarm per day can be set. If I want to ring again the next day, I must enter the “set” function and then press “snooze.”

If I have multiple pills to take, I must set the timer (different from the alarm function but easier to use, in my opinion) each time I take my pills. I press the “mode” button until it reaches the number of hours I need it to count down from and then press “set.” If I make a mistake, it will not let me reset the timer. I must wait until the timer goes off or else take out the battery, reset the clock and then reset the timer. I haven’t found any other way.

The countdown timer can only be set to the hour.

CONCLUSION

I would not recommend the Royalty 100 for the elderly or anyone who needs simplicity and an easy way to get to their medication. I wouldn’t even buy it again for myself. A plain weekly pill organizer would work better. Otherwise, keep the users manual handy. It should be stored near the Royalty.

Suave Clinical Protection AntiPerspirant Deodorant, Everlasting Sunshine

Suave Clinical Protection AntiPerspirant Deodorant, Everlasting Sunshine

Note that the blurb on Amazon states how well Suave Clinical Protection Deodorant works “while resting.” Definitely while resting, because it didn’t work for me when not resting. The deodorant scent is strong. If my clothes don’t smell like B.O., they sure smell like Suave deodorant. It’s sweet and fresh but very noticeable.

What I like: I like the dispensing mechanism. Turn the knob and deodorant comes out of the holes in the top. I don’t have to wait for it to dry, I don’t have white marks all over my clothes, and it really does work when resting. 3 ½ stars.

ADDENDUM: I would like to add that instructions say to use it at bedtime for maximum protection, but the product can also be used in the morning. I used it in the mornings, because that’s easier than having to remember to do it at night.

Visine Total Eye Soothing Wipes

Visine Total Eye Soothing Wipes

I have no idea why, but my eyes were so gunked up this morning. I had a jar of these Visine Total Eye Soothing Wipes around and quickly used one. They are small but thick, moist but not overly wet, and they did the trick. I can smell the alcohol in it, but it’s mixed with a lemony scent which I find pleasant.

It really is soothing and it did clean the area around my eyes much better than a tissue would (and I’m too lazy to fetch a wet washcloth). I wouldn’t use it every day because I think the alcohol would dry my skin out too much. However, it’s nice to have around the house.
